Serena Williams won U.S. Open

The black beauty and prominent tennis player Serena Williams has won U.S. Open by defeating young Serbian player Jelena Jankovic. Serena Williams took Two hours and four minutes to beat Jankovic 6-4, 7-5. This is 26-year-old Serena Williams’s third U.S. Open, earlier she had captured this world prominent tennis title in 1999 and 2002. Serena broke Jelena Jankovic’s service three times in first set and saving four points in second set  to won U.S. Open in 2 hour and 4 minute. Now she has become no. one woman tennis player again.

It was Jelena Jankovic’s first Grand Slam final. She said “Serena was a better player tonight”. “She was just too good tonight.” “I have done a great job to even be in the final despite so many problems, so many injuries and other bad things. It is a big achievement for me and several chances come in my life like this”. She added.

Martina Navratilova four time U.S. Open champion praised Jelena Jankovic’s play in final match but she said Jankovic made some mistake too. Serena Williams beat her sister Venus Williams in the quarterfinals. Venus Williams was one of the celebrities who were enjoying this most thrilling match. It is Serena Williams’s ninth Grand Slam title.

Roger Federer loss Rafael Nadal closer to No. one rank

World’s no. one tennis player Roger Federer is passing his hard days of life. He fell again and gave chance to his opponent Rafael Nadal for top spot with title. Croatia’s Ivo Karlovic defeated Federer 7-6 (8/6), 4-6, 7-6 (5/7) in the third round of the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters in Cincinnati on Thursday night. At present Nadal is at no. two position in ATP rank while Roger Federer still now is no. one.

Roger Federer has owned the top ranking for 235 weeks. However Rafael Nadal can get number one rank if he wins the title. The world’s second-ranked Rafael Nadal ousted German Tommy Haas, 6-4, 7-6 (0). He has won his last six tournaments. After Federer’s loss all tennis fonder eyes are stop upon Rafael Nadal that he participates in Olympic 2008 as a no. one tennis player or not.
