Amir’s Taare Zameen Par, has selected for the Oscars 2009. But another Indian film Tingya will appear in the Oscars. Tingya is a Marathi film that has lost Oscars race from Taare Zameen Par by close inch. Even producer Ravi Rai and his production company Small Town Boy Productions has decided to send Tingya for the Oscars 2009 independently. Marathi film Tingya is produced by Ravi Rai and directed by Mangesh Hadawale. It is an emotional story based on love of a boy and a bull.
Tingya has won several nationally and internationally awards still now and in row of the Oscars award. The director of Tingya, Mangesh Hadawale said that Rai is the 41st producer who showed faith in my story and decided to finance the film. He further expresses his unhappy about Tingya being surpass. “Taare Zameen Par is a good movie but my film has won more awards than TZP in both national and international festivals as well as has been appreciated by foreign juries. So my film should have selected for Oscars”. He added.
Aamir’s Taare Zameen Par and Ravi Rai’s Tingya were in close competition for Oscars award. But Taare Zameen Par beat Tingya on the basis of technical finesse.
