India’s first individual gold winner Abhinav Bindra arrived at the Indira Gandhi International airport mid night on Wednesday. To receive Bindra his father AS Bindra, mother Babli Bindra, Sister Divya Kapoor, brother-in-law Angad Kapoor with a big number of fans were present at airport. The 25 years old Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra said “I am very happy”. He further said that he is feeling honour that he won first individual gold medal for India in Olympics.

Earlier to arriving Abhinav’s at the airport a large number of sports buffs, officials of National Rifle Association of India and Indian Olympic Association were wait to have a glimpse of Bindra.

Olympic gold winning shooter Abhinav Bindra has very busy schedule on Thursday. He will meet many political leaders including Indian president too. First of all Bindra will meet Sports Minister M S Gill then President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and vice President Hamid Ansari. He will address media in the afternoon and after that also meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee in the evening.

A 25 year old Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra won first solo gold medal in Beijing Olympics 2008. Thus he gave a unique gift to India just days before its 62nd Independence Day. Thus he has become first Indian who won solo gold medal in any Olympics Games. India has won gold medal in only hockey in the Olympics games still now but Bindra made a history by winning India’s first solo gold medal.

India won gold medal after 28 years long journey. Earlier it Indian Hockey had won gold medal in 1980. The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna awarded Abhinav Bindra said it is the best feeling of my life after establishes a mile stone. Bindra secured 700.5 while Athens Games champion Zhu Qinan of China secured 699.7 and won silver. Finnish shooter Henri Hakkinen was at third with 699.4.  Indian President and Prime minister congratulated to Abhinav Bindra on his brilliant success.
