Indian celebrates 59th Republic Day

Today, Indian celebrated 59th Republic Day; it was different than before Republic Days in many aspects. Pratibha Devisingh Patil became the first woman who took salute as the Commander in Chief of Armed Forces on Republic Day. French President Nicholas Sarkozy was the chief guest on 59th Republic Day. 

Pratibha Patil’s husband Devisingh Shekhawat was beside her and he by mistake identified as Devisingh ‘Patil’ by the commentator.

French President Nicholas Sarkozy is on a two day visit to India. During French president visit to India many agreement have been signed, these agreement are included civil nuclear cooperation, transfer of technology education and trade and defense. A parade started by a fly past of Indian air force jets and followed by the armed forces. India’s highest bravery award “Ashok Chakra” was given to four army men on Republic Day celebration. All intelligence agencies were on high alert in India cause possible terror strikes.
