Huge welcome by the indian crowd

Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, his cabinet colleagues, BCCI president Sharad Pawar and other officials received the Indian cricket team at the airport and welcomed team with full of joy & happiness.At this occasion private security guards were also drafted in to cope with the crush as new captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni led his side out of Airport to huge cheers.Thousands of people were merged in monsoon rain to salute the cricketers at the return to their homeland. Police make good effort to control swelling crowds wildly celebrating the return home of the Indian team after bracing the introductory Twenty20 world title against Pakistan.
The cricketers went round in a decorated open double-decker bus with skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s photograph streaked on the front. People lined up from the airport to the Wankhede stadium in South Mumbai, with players taking turns to hold aloft the trophy, the bus set off on a 30-kilometre (20-mile) drive to south Mumbai’s seafront Wankhede cricket stadium for a huge welcome home party. Fans lit firecrackers, sang songs — “Chak de India” or “Come on India” and waved placards as the high-spirited players danced and hugged each other. Police also joined in the celebrations as rose and marigold petals were thrown in the air.
