Freestyle Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar won second medal for India in on going Beijing Olympic. He defeated Kazakhstan’s wrestler in a play-off in men’s 66 kg freestyle wrestling category. Earlier, India’s top freestyle wrestler Sushil Kumar has lost from Ukraine’s Andriy Stadnik in the first round on points in the men’s 66 kg freestyle category. But he got a bye in the qualification round.

The world prominent pop star Madonna celebrated her 50th birthday at a trendy London club Volstead. According to “People” magazine it was a small party in which her friends and close family members were present. The director husband Guy Ritchie organized birthday party. Madonna’s husband Guy Ritchie said “She looks better now than she ever has done. I am so proud. I love her so much”, in front of around 90 guest who were present in the party to celebrate Madonna’s 50th birthday.
The pop queen Madonna was born on 16th August 1958 in Bay City, Michigan. She is third of eight children in a devout Italian-Catholic family. The pop star Madonna came in limelight in 1984. When she made a record deal with Warner Brothers as well as made first two big hits.

In the Beijign Olympic 2008, India has only one Gold medal still now. However Olympic is underway but in other categories Indian are not very hopefully from other participants. In this circumstance, Indian boxers Akhil, Vijender and Jitender a step away from Olympic medal. The Asian Games bronze medalist Vijender defeated Thailand boxer Angikhan Comphuphuang with 13-3 in the 75 kg middleweight class. The tall Indian boxer Vijender Kumar began carefully and took a lead of 2-0 at the end of the first round. Vijender kept his lead at the end and enter quarter final.
The 2006 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Akhil kumar defeated world champion Sergey Vodopyanov and book a berth in quarterfinals and gave right Independence Day gift to Indians. The 21-year-old flyweight boxer Jitender kumar defeated Doniyorov 13-6. He will meet three-time European champion Russian Georgy Balakshin in quarterfinals. Vijender takes on Ecuadorian Carlos Gongora in quarterfinal on Tuesday.

India’s 24 years wait to qualify for the Asia Cup football tournament has end when Indian football team defeated defending champions Tajikistan 4-1 in the AFC Cup final played at the Ambedkar Stadium on Wednesday night. Sports Minister M S Gill congratulated the Indian football players as well as coach Bob Hougton and captain Baichung Bhutia for their achievement. Further he said “I want Indian Football team play in Olympics and win Gold medal for India.

Two-time Asian Games gold medallist India last played in the Asia Cup in 1984. Sunil Chhetri was hero of final; he scored three goals for India. Chhetri set up his first goal in the 9th minute, second goal in the 19th minute and India’s third goal in the 23rd minute. Thus Sunil Chhetri completed his hat trick in final of AFC Challenge Cup. While Indian skipper Bhaichung Bhutia scored one goal for India. Tajikistan tried to come back in the match but they could only one goal thus India won AFC Challenge Cup by 4-1.

India’s first individual gold winner Abhinav Bindra arrived at the Indira Gandhi International airport mid night on Wednesday. To receive Bindra his father AS Bindra, mother Babli Bindra, Sister Divya Kapoor, brother-in-law Angad Kapoor with a big number of fans were present at airport. The 25 years old Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra said “I am very happy”. He further said that he is feeling honour that he won first individual gold medal for India in Olympics.
Earlier to arriving Abhinav’s at the airport a large number of sports buffs, officials of National Rifle Association of India and Indian Olympic Association were wait to have a glimpse of Bindra.

Olympic gold winning shooter Abhinav Bindra has very busy schedule on Thursday. He will meet many political leaders including Indian president too. First of all Bindra will meet Sports Minister M S Gill then President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and vice President Hamid Ansari. He will address media in the afternoon and after that also meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee in the evening.

India’s No1 woman badminton player Saina Nehwal could not enter in semi final. Indonesia’s Maria Kristin Yulianti defeated to Indian teenager Saina Nehwal with 28-26, 14-21, 15-21 in a thrilling quarterfinal which was held on Wednesday. A thrilling quarterfinal between India’s no.1 and World no. 15 badminton player Saina Nehwal and 21 ranked Indonesia’s Maria Kristin Yulianti held at the Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium Court, in which Saina failed to enter semi final. Thus her dream to become the first Indian woman to play semi final in Olympic could not come true.
World no. 15 Saina played her natural game and won first set with 28-26 but could not continue her best performance and lost other two set by 14-21, 15-21. Thus India’s badminton challenge ended with Saina Nehwal’s exit from Beijing Olympic. Indian man badminton player Anup Sridhar already has exit from Olympic. The 18-year-old Saina Nehwal was last hope for India to win medal in badminton.

A 25 year old Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra won first solo gold medal in Beijing Olympics 2008. Thus he gave a unique gift to India just days before its 62nd Independence Day. Thus he has become first Indian who won solo gold medal in any Olympics Games. India has won gold medal in only hockey in the Olympics games still now but Bindra made a history by winning India’s first solo gold medal.
India won gold medal after 28 years long journey. Earlier it Indian Hockey had won gold medal in 1980. The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna awarded Abhinav Bindra said it is the best feeling of my life after establishes a mile stone. Bindra secured 700.5 while Athens Games champion Zhu Qinan of China secured 699.7 and won silver. Finnish shooter Henri Hakkinen was at third with 699.4. Indian President and Prime minister congratulated to Abhinav Bindra on his brilliant success.

As all Indian cricket fans were expecting that master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will come in the one-day team and happened so. India’s cricket selectors recalled premier batsman Sachin Tendulkar, senior fast bowler Zaheer Khan and experienced spinner Harbhajan Singh into 16-members Indian squad for the one-day series in Sri Lanka. Sachin Tendulkar had missed out last month’s Asia Cup in Pakistan and on the tri-series in Bangladesh due to a groin injury. Like this Zaheer Khan missed Asia Cup in Pakistan due to injury while Harbhajan Singh was serving a ban in Shanthakumaran Sreesanth matter. Selectors also declared Indian cricket team for Champions Trophy.

India long weightlifter L Monika Devi has tested positive for a steroid. So Indian Olympic Association withdrew her at the last moment from the Indian contingent. L. Monika Devi tested positive in a pre-departure dope test which was conducted by SAI. India’s lone representative in the weightlifting competition of the Beijing Olympic Games 2008, Monika Devi was chosen to compete in the 69 kg class. An out of competition test was done at the National Dope Testing Laboratory.
L.Monika Devi, the lone woman weightlifter was selected after too much controversy over the selection process and two trials which were done in Pune and Bangalore. The International Weightlifting Federation has already banned the Indian Weightlifting Federation once to participating in all international games. So it is very hurtable news for Indian Weightlifter. Monika (69kg) lifted 224kg in trial while Shailaja(75kg) lifted 236kg despite it Monika has selected for Olympic Games.

World’s no. one tennis player Roger Federer is passing his hard days of life. He fell again and gave chance to his opponent Rafael Nadal for top spot with title. Croatia’s Ivo Karlovic defeated Federer 7-6 (8/6), 4-6, 7-6 (5/7) in the third round of the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters in Cincinnati on Thursday night. At present Nadal is at no. two position in ATP rank while Roger Federer still now is no. one.
Roger Federer has owned the top ranking for 235 weeks. However Rafael Nadal can get number one rank if he wins the title. The world’s second-ranked Rafael Nadal ousted German Tommy Haas, 6-4, 7-6 (0). He has won his last six tournaments. After Federer’s loss all tennis fonder eyes are stop upon Rafael Nadal that he participates in Olympic 2008 as a no. one tennis player or not.
